i still have a few of those SLR cameras
Of all my 35mm SLRs, I wish I'd kept my Pentax K1000. Simple. Well-made. 99.9% Reliable.
Selling my Canon AE-1P was easy: Debbie's coworker had a daughter getting a minor in Photography -- practically gave it away. (I hadn't used it in decades!)
You know what? Like Turntables, these quality film cameras are making a comeback... (Sold my DUAL with solid wood cabinet when Charlotte was still in diapers.) My Timing... stinks.
I have a Pentax K1000 too. My sister bought it over 40 years ago, it was the recommended model for a photography course she took. There are still several places around Ottawa that sell and process film, but I am all digital now. I have used the lenses from the K1000 with an adapter on my Micro 4/3 camera for some night sky imaging.
And speaking of old audio equipment, also have my sister's old Pioneer SX-580 receiver. The woodgrain plastic foil is peeling a bit but it still works great. I have audio output from my desktop computer routed through the Aux inputs and feed the output from my fooling about with software synths through it.
