Hello everyone,

I've very new at all of this, barely finished doing my first evening of taking photos (planetary).

Quick question. If my guide camera is connected to my computer, which runs NINA and PHD2, do I still need to connect the "auto guide" cable between the camera and my EQ6 mount? My EQ6 mount is connected to my computer and controlled by NINA.

I assume your EQ6 is connected to your computer by USB, in which case you do not need a separate guide cable.

The answer is NO.  If your guide camera USB port and your mount is connected to your PC, guide camera and mount are being controlled by NINA.

Eq6-r Pro AUTO GUIDE PORT: This RJ-12 6-pins outlet is for connecting an autoguider (guide camera). It is compatible with any autoguider with a ST-4 type interface.  Most setups use the guide camera's USB port instead of using the ST-4 port.  Hope this helps.
