Normally I find these as exciting as watching paint dry but couldn't sleep out on my deck 315am Pittsburgh & this one is quite beautiful living up to the whole blood moon thing. Photo taken with just my phone gotta run I think there's a vampire in the roof 😯!

I went out around 1:30 am with my 10x50 binocular and took a look at the total lunar eclipse.  Had a nice view and noticed the upper portion of the moon was still fairly bright and not deep into the Earth’s shadow.  The S+T graphic for the eclipse showed that the moon was slightly above the ecliptic in the upper portion of the shadow, so this explained the brighter top of the moon.

Unfortunately it turned out there was indeed a vampire on my roof the night of the eclipse and I was bitten so soon I'll be a creature of the night. Ideal really for what we do I suppose. I'd... really really like to come to your home or observatory, Let Me In??? 🦇 🦇

It was cloudy in northern Wyoming and actually started to rain. All we got to see was a partial eclipse poking through lots of cloud cover. Totality was obscured.
