Only $40 to take it apart and find out for sure!

You can see the face angles in this cropped picture though:

Since it's erecting and has prisms wouldn't it have to be Amici? shrug.gif

Well, if you are ok with the in and outgoing path to not be in the same plane, there are other schemes you could do. Using either prisms or two mirrors.
Granted, this one doesn't look like that.

No, the vast majority of prism diagonals are non-correct image erecting prisms.  All diagonals erect, if right and left are correct also then it is an Amici.

In this case, I bet this is NOT an Amici and a regular prism diagonal.

Because it looked similar to this one by Baader, I assumed correct image tongue2.gif

It appears to be a duplicate of the entry level Celestron correct image diagonal. I roughly measured the clear aperture of the Celestron in at 14 mm. This one looks similar.

It's not worth $40.

If I buy it, what am I going to do with it?

Why spend the $40 when one can buy a better Amici prism Diagonal with a clear aperture of 20mm for $33?

A 1.25 inch diagonal with 14mm clear aperture will severely vignette with many eyepieces..  A 1.25 inch diagonal with 20mm of clear aperture will only vignette noticeably with eyepieces like a 24mm SWA or a 32mm Plossl.

Inspect it to answer the question, then return it.  I assumed you would have understood that, but now I know better.

As I mentioned, I have owned several of the Celestron diagonals that appear identical.  They come with the Powerseeker scopes among others.  I measured the clear aperture at about 14mm.  From the images, this diagonal also seems to have a limited clear aperture of about very similar dimensions.

I do not recommend these, the AgenaAstro style in my previous post is superior and less expensive.  That 14mmm clear aperture really limits the TFov.
