If you have dark skies then I might add a pair of binoculars to complement the more restricted field of view of the telescope. My personal favorite is the Oberwerk 15x70 Deluxe, but any decent pair would do very well.

Yesterday I addedI’m 46 years old and have had a decent scope on my bucket list since my early 20’s. Recently diagnosed with terminal cancer(3-5years hopefully more) so I got off my rear and purchased last week. I am going to post what I am starting with on my purchase and would love to hear some feedback of what maybe I didn’t need or still do need. I am very much a beginner and wanted enough pieces and parts to make it easy to find anything I want and hopefully have a relatively inexpensive collection to view at different magnifications. I am sure I am most likely going to be equally interested in lunar and planetary zooming just as much as DSO. I am hoping the zoom lens and the Barlow will give me a good idea of what I will need to do what. Might potentially eventually get into some sort of imaging, but that will be after a fair amount of visual, observing learning and reading. Please let me know any thoughts
I got the next star SE8 from celestron’s site. All add ons I got from high point scientific
