I've mentioned recently that I've been cleaning up my Jupiter drives and reprocessing old data (I had never deleted many of the SER files from this 8 TB drive.)  It's a tedious effort and I'm hoping to compile a series of comparison images between the 2023 and 2024 seasons, eventually.  In the meantime, I came across this rather complete set of data from which I've created this APNG animation.

I've got to head to the granddaughter's house but I'll post more details later today.  Select the image to launch the animation.

Io shadow transit - 8/26/23 - animated align equal w600h450

Some details.  These are 60s exposures captures with an AS!678MC at f/10, stacked in AS!4 (the first upgrade from when the data was taken).  Sharpened in Wavesharp 2.0 (the second upgrade from when the data was taken).  Layer 1, 0.150 100%; Layer 2, 0.130 60%; Layer 3 0.100 40%.  I had to manually adjust the amount of green in the histogram to correct the color balance of the 678 (which has way too much green to white balance with the camera alone.  Image measurement in WinJuPOS (latest version is the third upgrade from the original data).  7-image derotations we then performed on the image measurement frames stepping forward one frame between each set of 7.  Back to Wavesharp 2.0 using derind to remove the WinJuPOS rind as well as any artifacts around the moon shadow (Note: Make sure you turn OFF the "dark edge" toggle that appears when you select the gear wheel.

Very nice. I wonder what is the source of the blips in the image scale near the end? I assume it must be a WinJUPOS effect.

Beautiful work, Don! Took a good while to load the whole animation but very impressive results!

Yes.  I know just when it happened too.  I made a change to the wire frame to keep the shadow in the right location of the wire frame.  Instead of "page up" I probably should have done a rotation and slew instead.
