So, I too am about to dive into the abyss of astrophotographic turmoil. My goal is to buy a camera with a lens (or telescope, call it what you want) Askar APO Triplet 40/180. Question: is a finder-guide necessary for such equipment? If it is needed, which one would you recommend for use?

"Question: is a finder-guide necessary"

Do you mean a guidescope ?

For long exposures with all but a premium mount you will probably need to guide.

Or do you mean a finderscope ?

Probably necessary for Star Alignment, but Plate Solving could replace that.

Yes, that's it. I'm sorry for the bad English.

What do you mean by "premium mount”?

Due to the low weight, I will most likely use the iOptron SkyHunter AZ/EQ+.

But which one is it ?

A premium mount - a mount that tracks very well and is probably expensive .
