I’ve been following Venus as it nears inferior conjunction, weaving my way through several days of clouds and rain, and as the weather finally cleared I was able to spot it and capture it this morning. It rose at 6:55am local time and my first sighting was at 6:59; this image was taken at 7:00, about 11 minutes before sunrise.

iPhone to my Questar 3.5 at 87.5x magnification.

Good shot considering it just was in the evening sky, around inferior conjunction.

It is possible to be an evening and morning star briefly in the same 24 hour period.

Thanks for the image. Get one for the evening sky now just for fun...

Thanks for sharing… here’s the evening counterpart, captured at 7:22pm, about seven minutes after sunset. Fairly low in the weeds, but an easy grab.
