Seems like Sony runs the board for all the astro camera manufacturers (ZWO, QHY, PlayerOne, and others). Are there any other sensor manufacturers to source from? I understand the astro market is limited.

Specifically I’ve been looking for a larger pixel mono camera for my SCT to match scale well. Currently use the 294, but 2400 would be better. But that sensor doesn’t exist in mono.

It's not just sensors for astro cams that Sony basically has a monopoly on, it's just about all consumer level cameras. There are some other big players in the market like Samsung and Omnivision but their sensors are more for phones and tablets and not suited for astro.

There are alternatives, but they are either too expensive or underperforming compared to Sony, or both.

You may consider cameras with GSENSE sensors, but they are rather expensive.

This said, there isn't much benefit compared to the latest Sony sensors with 3,76µm photosites, which have very low read noise and deep wells. Oversampling is not anymore the problem it used to be. Best to stack and process in bin1 and rescale to taste at the very end if needed.
