I reviewed many of the camera postings in the forum, seeking advice and possible other recommendations.
I've tried all of the suggestions: driver, Ascom drivers, Ascom Platform, cables, ports, computers and still device is not found.

This is standalone single camera connection directly to the USB-C or USB-A port of the computer.
Usually when you plug and unplug a device there is a system sound, and the "Device Manager" will reset with every insertion or extraction.

So seemingly its totally unrecognized.

Attempted to use ASICap, PHD2, SGP, Fire Capture and SharpCap - none of them will connect to the ASI174 mini, but I also have a ASI220 mini and ASI120 mini as my control units (make sure I did not break something with all the changes); and they all respond and operate as expected. Same computer, cables, ports and operating system.

I then tested the ASI174 with ASIair controlled by my Ipad. When I plug the ASI174 Mini using the cable off the ASI533MM hubs USB-A port - its recognized and able to run in camera mode or guide camera mode.

What is different from ASIair-->USB-A compared to PC-->USB-A/C?

What is unique about the ASI174 mini? I'm unable to update the firmware as the tool does not recognize the hardware.
OS = W11 Q4H2 updates (x2), MAC= Sierra (x2).

Suggestions welcomed and very appreciated.

Make sure your PC USB port ist type 2. I had the same problem with my 174mini when attaching it to USB3 ports.

CS,

That is very interesting -

I performed some cable tests today.

If i used the cable that was plugged into the ASIair and it worked USBA to USBC on the PC laptop - but only two of four cables.

Whereas the ASI220 and ASI120 both were fine with any cable plugged into the either PC or MAC laptops.

I then ran some tests with my older Mac and newer Mac - USBC to USBC; all cables failed to recognize the 174, but the 120 nd 220 were all fine.

I submitted these questions to the ZWO Forum under camera's - looking a few minutes ago it was yet to be approved.

But I'm very interested in understanding if there is in fact a limitation.

Usually camera's you wish fast download times and 480MB does not cut it.  So let's wait and see what ZWO says.
