I've been trying to think of a way to look into my Questar comfortably.  The thought arose because none of my tray tables or other tables seemed to be just the right height for a comfortable use of the instrument.  Then I remembered those bedside hospital type tables that are height adjustable.

They run about $50 on Amazon, like this one.

I might be able to even view while sitting in a zero gravity chair.  Might be good with binoculars as well...

I use a Davis and Sanford model A for mine which has what they called a floating action center column.  Large diameter and really easy to adjust the height while seated behind the scope.

I never found a table I liked for it that was solid enough

I view on a wooden (Tresx) deck anyway so some amount of vibration is always with me.  I doubt that the Q3.5 could be used on the hospital table I've just ordered if its three legs were attachedk, but in regular alt/az mode it should be fine.  I'll know soon :)

This is deck furniture.  A 39” high dining table that we use for that purpose as well.  I can sit and observe with my Starbound chair.

Here's another vote for the Davis & Sanford Model A. Questar used to sell 'em for the scopes; they're quite solid

and steady. Light weight and compact too.

I'm using one with a folding director's chair this upcoming observing season (I've become a Fair Weather Astro Nut;

I'm gettin' too old to freeze my tuchus off chasing the Orion nebula, so it's the warmer months for me these days!).

Besides... the director's chair has been converted into Questar bling; I replaced the fabric seat and back with a red

one, and found an outfit that would print the back with the Questar logo!

Here is my solution. I call it a TriTable. I designed and 3D printed leg supports for my table and put tripod legs in it.

Thinking outside the box, what about using an adjustable-height astronomy chair that you can adjust to fit any table?

One tip that I didn't realize for years (decades) as a Questar owner:

Rotating the barrel enables different viewer heights.  Caution, if it's well out of position, the finder mirror bracket can scratch the paint on the insides of the arms.

My favorite viewing with a 3.5 in a traditional Linhof with the elevating center post.  Each object gets the ideal viewing angle without any crouching or tiptoes.  And nice for social viewing with different height guests.
