Is it theoretically possible to replace the blocking filter of a Lunt 40mm solar scope (single front stacked) with a Quark Chromosphere filter for imaging purposes only?

Yes, and it is also safe for visual.

Very, very good.  That will save me buying the 2nd etalon.

This works fine, but the scope gets a bit back heavy and the helical focuser is at its limit.

I would have just bought the 2nd etalon, but it is backordered everywhere.

I ended up just buying a second Lunt 40 and using the etalon with a 3d printer adapter to double stack. Some day I will ask Lunt if they will sell me the thread adapter so it fits like the dedicated double stack unit.
