I just noticed today that two of my AA+ units have mysteriously changed the guide speed setting to .25x all by themselves.  I know for a fact that I have never made any adjustment to this setting, the default is supposed to be .5x.  I've barely used these since its been clouded over most of the winter so I have no idea when this happened.  Anyone else notice this?  Maybe it happened during the last update?

Yeah I noticed that when my guiding went to crap right after the update. Even pulled up Peters video on guiding with AA+ to make sure I was right and had it set to .5 originally.

The other thing I have had massive issues with since the last update is I keep loosing, for a very short period of time, my guide star. Even last night when i had extremely excellent seeing with <10% humidity. Still have not figured that one out yet. Never once was a problem before the update!

I'm looking in the guide settings for my AA Pro and I see nothing about "guide speed" or 0.5x or 0.25x settings.  Could you post a screenshot showing what you're talking about please?

I am not home at the moment, so I am not able to post a pic of mine personally.  But I did just happen across this thread on the zwo forum, I'm wondering if the speed is defaulting to .25x when connecting the asiair to a zwo mount?

The guide speed setting I'm referring to is under the mount tab, it may say rate instead of speed.

To be clear both of mine are AA+

Oh ok yes that makes sense that it would be related to the mount.  My AA isn't connected to my mount since I use a star tracker.

I will have to do a test this week and see if it changes on its own when I connect it to my AM5

Just checked mine; I have the 256GB version connected to a CEM70, and no changed values here.

All three of mine are on the latest code and are still set to .5X.

Haven’t used mine so much these last few weeks since I’ve been prioritizing improving my NINA usage, but I just checked both of them (a Pro and a Plus) and the guide speed has not been modified from ”default”.
My mount is an EQ6R pro.

OK, I just did a test, connected my AA+ to my eq6r pro mount and set the value to .5x, powered it down and then connected it to my am5 and the setting did not change.  I'm assuming it must have got changed somehow during an update.

Mine is staying set to 0.5x, but every start up sees my location set to 00000000. I didn't check it tonight (duh) and for the second time since updating my scope was pointing at completely the wrong part of the sky. This is not good. These update flaws are getting really tiresome. It really seems that a couple of years back they were more polished.

Was there a recent firmware update? I haven’t had one come across for a couple months at least.

I dunno, I switched mine on for the first time in 3 months and it updated, so I am blaming a "recent" update which might have been a while ago!

No recent update that I know of, I'm thinking my issue was from the last update awhile ago.  I havent been very active at all the past few months so I just noticed it this week.

Thanks TXLS99! I checked the mount settings in the AAP 256mb that rides on my C8. Sure enough, the guide speed was set to 0.25x, not 0.5. Fixed. I'll check the older 2021 AAP 32mb I use with my Askar V once I get back to shooting widefield stuff.
