I recently bought a refractor from Stellarvue and was wondering which reducer produced the sharpest images. Stellarvue or starizona?

Well I don't know about the Stellarvue 2" .8 reducer for f7s but I'm about to find out how the very expensive .6 reducer from Starizona will do for a f9.

I have the L version of the Apex from Starizona and find it to be outstanding. I have tried it on 3 different scope: A V130 ED, a AT125EDL and a AT111EDT. It worked great on each. I use it on the 111 the most and it has been on their for the last year. I can highly recommend it.

I’ve tried a number of reducers, and had the best results with the ES .7x on multiple F7 scopes. With the Starizona I got lots of vignetting (it can be corrected). The ES has much larger 56mm clear optics, and will do APS with no vignetting. The biggest drawback is its thread size, it needs an adapter to get to a standard threads.

I agree with the vignetting by the Starizona Apex. I mostly use it with my mono 533 on my AT111 so it is not an issue there. I see slight when I use the 294 on the same set up but much less so on my longer focal length/higher focal ratio Vixen 130.
