My CGX and ASIAIR Pro issue,

  • My CGX mount and ASIAIR Pro have worked flawlessly for 3 years. USB cable from bottom of HC to the ASIAIR.
  • The original hand controller broke last month, and was replaced. The new HC operates the CGX mount properly without the ASIAIR.
  • Now the ASIAIR and mount don't see each other. I replaced the HC a 2nd time, same result.
  • I've updated the mount, HC, ASIAIR, and the app. Same results
  • I have tried different startup routines, and powerup routines, same result.

Here's the kicker.. When I connect a 6 year old "Star Sense alignment camera and matching HC" The mount IS recognized by the ASIAIR Pro and app. At this point the mount and ASIAIR Pro app works great like is has for years.
Another Kicker...I have the ASI2600MC Air camera with a built in ASIAIR. When I use the new ASI2600MC Air, the CGX, new HC and ASIAIR app talk and work fine.

The only change was a new hand controller two times with the same result.

I've updated the CGX and HC using the Celestron CFM program.

  • Was there a software update that prevents the new HC to talk with the AIR Pro? I've done a reset on the air, a reinstall on the app with no change.
  • Was there an update somewhere that locked out the ability for the CGX and ASIAIR Pro to talk to each other?
  • Why does the 6 year old Star Sense HC work with the ASIAIR?
  • Does the old ASIAIR controller need to be replaced?
  • The ASIAIR Pro DOES recognize filter wheels, cameras, memory sticks, and auto focusers. Just the mount is the issue.

Thank You in advance for any and all help. I really don't want to buy any new components (ASIAIR) unless a fix is for sure.
