I mostly use PixInsight WBPP process to perform most of my image process basic work.

When calibrating the RASA data I could never get concentric rings in the subs to fully disappear when running the calibration.

I always ticked the optimise master darks button button thinking this was always good- I found it is not.

After the integration and not ticking the optimise button I was really surprised to see that the calibration of the lights was pretty much perfect with not a trace of the concentric rings that had plagued me for years.

It just shows- an old dog can find new tricks.

If your plagued by weird calibration results in your data images especially with CMOS try not to work with bias- sadly I'm old school so I always used bias in the old CCD sensor environment but  only now for flat calibration in the CMOS sensor world.

Enjoy!
