The seeing was reasonable tonight in Norfolk, UK, and I managed to capture some good detail on both Jupiter and Mars with my new 400mm dob.

If only I'd had this beast when the two were at opposition. Mars is now only 8.5" across. The 400P has really excellent optics.

The Jupiter image was made up from 7 x 100 second videos, captured with Firecapture, Stacked in Autostakkert, Wavelets in Registax. Mars was a single capture of 30% of 30,000 frames. ZWO 715MC cam, 2x Barlow, 400mm f/4.4 Newtonian.

Nice efforts for this late in their apparitions! Typical washed colours from cmos cams, which do benefit from a boost in saturation and vibrancy but you picked up some nice details there..! waytogo.gif waytogo.gif
