Hello from Galicia, Northern Spain. Yesterday we were lucky enough to witness a partial solar eclipse, and whilst I didn't go out with my astronomy club I did have a small family event with the venerable Heritage 130p and my homemade solar filter setup. I had great fun using the "sun dial" solar finder and showing off it's simplicity.
I had made the filter setup from cardboard and Baader film last summer and posted about it, but beyond that I hadn't got much use from it. Yesterday we had perfect cloudless conditions, in countries further north they weren't so lucky, but we had a full unimpeded 2~ hours to enjoy it. The Heritage 130p as always proved itself a capable platform!
Attached is my humble image of the event at it's maximum, nothing beyond a phone-at-eyepiece video stacked etc. Solar imaging is impossible with this particular setup without the ability to remove the light shroud and change prime focus for use with my cameras (due to safety concerns)
Clear skies all!
