Recently got this Stellarvue SV115T Triplet which I understand is the version that is adaptable to binoviewing without an OCS by removing the rear black barrel, thus shortening the light path to compensate for the light path through the binoviewer, about 4.5 inches.

My question is how to remove that barrel? Nothing seems obvious, when I attempt to unscrew it the whole rear cell starts unscrewing from the tube.

Anyone out there have one of these, used if for OCS-free binoviewing and knows how this should come apart?

Thanks in advance.

Tom

PS: As I understand it Stellarvue is locked down from public contact because of a government contract so no help there.

Stellarvue responded to say the tube just unscrews and recommended the use of strap wrenches. I'll give it a try.
