I have an original 12" Odyssey (Monstrosity) reflector with mirrors that need to be re-coated. What is the best way to separate the secondary mirror from the metal horizontal mount without breaking it? It seems to be glued or epoxied on with an adhesive. Anyone know what adhesive they used?

I have used nylon fishing line

Cut off a nice section an use it like a saw

Side the line back and forth across the adhesive at the back and it should cut through it.

Then use a sharp blade to scrape off what's left.

Good luck

Ben
