I'm always curious, has anyone put their premium Televue eyepieces into a f/15 Mak and compared it to their f/4 fast Refractor, and see if there that much whoa factor with a f/15 Mak?

I always one the Delite 7mm just so I can see if it will be better. I guess I never have a chance to know now.

No, but I've done the converse (inexpensive eyepieces in a fast Dob) and the results weren't pretty.  grin.gif

Those same inexpensive eyepieces (Meade Plossls) gave nice views in my old SCT's.

I assume if the brand new Televue prices go up by a certain percent, their prices in the used market will increase accordingly (or probably even more.)!!!

Brand new Televue eyepieces are now out of the question for me.

But, you don't need Televue to enjoy astronomy. Just like how you don't need a Mercedes to drive to work.

Very true, Televue products are a luxury, not a necessity.

I purchased 2 TeleVue  Delite eyepieces a while back. I really like the Delites in my SCT. I was never a fan of wide view eyepieces. I like seeing the subject good, and don't care about a background. That being said, I want to complete the whole set of Delite's. Last week I purchased the 13mm Delite. They have gone up to $283, from the previous $269. I don't believe this is an increase due to the present economy. I think it might just be TeleVue's normal inflation adjustment. If the present economy causes a large increase in price, in the 25% or more range, I won't be able to complete the set. I think it's something we should all give thought to. If astronomy gear gets hit with large increases it may put your dream equipment out of your reach. Might be wise to buy now.

A good argument to use with a spouse also. :-)
