I would bet they fall in line with the Celestron Luminos eyepieces.

They are rebrands of Luminos. So ER will be typical Luminos, Nagler, AT UWA, etc. Fine without glasses if you aren’t hooked on big glass, long ER. But not designed for use with glasses.

These are sometimes preferred over the bulbous Luminos. The 7 and 10 are well regarded. The rest seem to have issues with EOFB and/or edge correction.

The 19mm ER is 20mm, and the design is based on the Celestron Axiom. The eye guard was very stiff and it had interesting distortion characteristics. I did have a ring of sharpness though. The eye guard could be fixed, but the rest of the ergonomics and odd distortion could not.

Hi Sir, I was thinking of buy one, so can you tell me more what you mean by eyeguard stiffness, like it is hard to fold down?

Also what you mean by distortion characteristics? It is when you view in the eyepiece? Do you use it on a Refractor?

I use to have the Luminos but I return it back to Amazon (due to the box was moldy), so if these eyepieces same quality as the Luminos then I don't mind. The Luminos actually work in my f/15 scope.

Well I just ordered a 10mm, from Amazon, with 25% coupon the price went down to $83 plus tax it $89, not bad for a 82 deg eyepiece. Let just hope it work, and not all those distortion like some reviews.

I have to order it today as the 25% coupon expire today.

Stiff as in uncomfortable and non-conforming against my nose and nose bridge. I didn't try to fold them down, but my guess is the eye guard would be very thick when folded.

In addition to significant pincushion, the center was fuzzy, sharp around the center, then fuzzy on the edges. It was the first time I had seen wavy distortion, that's why I called the distortion odd. I was using a pair of 19mm 2" eyepieces in an f/7 double refractor for daytime terrestrial. I also did a short nighttime moon watch.

Somewhere in the marketing literature I read that this product line was designed for f/6 and slower, so I assume they should perform better in your slow scopes.

These 2” ultrawides are not optimized for terrestrial or lunar viewing. Certainly what you describe sounds odd, and hard to explain, but the eyepiece might perform fine at night (its intended use).

That being said, the 2” models don’t have the best reputation, so there could be issues at night on DSO too. I avoided the 15mm and longer, but I have the 10mm and it’s a good eyepiece. It still won’t have great distortion characteristics for terrestrial viewing but it will do well on DSO.

I think Sir SeattleScott remember I returned my Luminos back to Amazon due to the moldy box (eyepiece was fine).

If this is indeed the clone of the Luminos, then I expect it to have 99% of the same view as the Luminos. I'm just worry since it just cheaper so the quality might not be good.

I guess we will know, at worst return back to Amazon again. But let hope it work so I can have a 82 deg eyepiece.

It's the same eyepiece internally. The manufacturer, Barsta, makes it for several companies, of which Celestron is one. If the Celestron works, the Astromania will too.
You are lucky to get it before the tariffs double the price.

Thank you so much Sir. The Luminos is the poor people premium eyepiece. I do hope it work too as it cheap (thanks to the 25% off coupon) and Amazon is easy return too.

Sir, do you know the Celestron X-Cell, do you know if other company make it?

oh Sir, and it seem like Alstar make it too the Luminos clone. This pic Sir, it looks just like the Astromania ones. There is 30% coupon on the Alstar one. Darn it, should have it get Alstar.

Should I order the 7mm Alstar one? 30% off coupon till end of this month. If it the same as the Luminos clone Astromania though. $90 for a 82 deg fov eyepiece, not bad, consider I have cheap scopes anyways.

Don can chime in later, but it is either a Luminos clone or a UWA clone. Either way, well regarded. However the 7 Luminos has been measured at 6.6mm focal length, and the 7 UWA has been measured at 7.7mm. That’s quite a difference for two “7mm” eyepieces.

The Luminos (astromania clone) is 82 deg

The UWA I'm guessing you mean the AstroTech UWA 82 deg? So maybe the Alstar is the clone of the AstroTech UWA 82 deg?

I actually hear better reviews from the Astrotech UWA 82 deg than the Luminos one.

Sir, do you know the Celestron X-Cel LX, do you know if other company make it?

For sure, the Celestron X-Cel LX is sold under other labels, in Australia, for instance, but none is less expensive than the Celestrons.

Affordable eyepieces are inconsistent. Some focal lengths do better than others. In the Luminos series, only the 7 and 10 seem to be well regarded. In the UWA series, the 4, 7, 10 and 28 seem to be well regarded. So as a result, the UWA has a better reputation as a series. That being said, the 7 Luminos is considered the best in the series, and bench tests better than the 7 UWA. Granted, I doubt you could tell the difference at F15. So I would go more based on price, or focal length fit, since one is about 6.6 and the other 7.7.

SkyRover UFF from AliExpress. It's not a "clone", it's the manufacturer own brand.

Thank you.

There are many brand names you can find them under:
Sky Rover
APM UFF
Svbony UFF
Tecnosky UFF
Celestron Ultima Edge
Meade UHD (discontinued)
Orion Ultra Flat (discontinued)
Altair Ultra Flat
and a few others I forgot.
Have you downloaded the 2025 Eyepieces Buyers Guide on the Eyepieces Forum?
You can find all re-badged eyepieces there.
The manufacturer is KUO on that list. If you sort by focal length, it will group them together.
The Sky Rover, KUO's house brand, will likely be cheapest. Beware of high tariffs if ordering after May 2. They will more than double the prices.
