Hello everyone,

I'm new to the hobby and recently bought a Sky-Watcher AZ-GO2 130/650 telescope from a local shop here in Italy. I noticed that the kit came with two eyepieces labeled with part no 201920749571.3.

During my research, I found some references suggesting these eyepieces might be a new version of the classic Super Barium or the classic Super 10mm and Super 20mm but are specifically designed to be used with a smarphone support (I read about Smartphoto+). However, the exact optical scheme remains unclear, and I couldn't find a definitive confirmation (I read also on this forum about keller or reversed keller but I'm not sure).

Does anyone here have experience with these "Photo 10\Photo 20" eyepieces or know more about their characteristics? Are they considered good entry-level eyepieces for beginners, or is it advisable to replace them early on.

I’d appreciate any feedback or insights.

Clear skies!
Simone

I’m sure they are basic eyepieces. As to whether or not you replace them, best thing is to just try it out and see what you think. Are the edges blurry? Is it hard to keep your eye positioned so the view doesn’t black out? Is there bright glare and reflections when viewing bright objects like Moon and Jupiter?

Ultimately what the optical design doesn’t matter much. You have the eyepieces. Try them out and see what you think. I’m sure premium eyepieces will be better, but if they provide good enough views for you, no need to replace them right away.

Thank you so much for the advice, Scott!

I’ll definitely follow your suggestion and give them a try once I get my hands on the telescope. Right now I’m on a business trip, so I’ll have to wait until the beginning of May to pick it up from the shop. But as soon as I start testing, I’ll see how they perform and take note of those things you mentioned :)

Mine was just pure curiosity since I didn’t find much info about those eyepieces online – it got me wondering! Looking forward to sharing some first impressions soon.
