I urgently need to know the dimensions of the foot on an Explore Scientific finder that fits into the T-shaped base. I just need the width across the widest part at the very bottom of the foot and the width of the stalk above the foot. If someone can measure these and let me know I'd appreciate it. Any other dimensions for this part would be welcome as well. I need to modify a piece of equipment to fit the ES bracket and don't have time to order in a part to adapt.

Thanks,

Bill

I’m not sure if I got exactly what you needed based on your description, but hopefully this helps:

Photo 1: Width at bottom of shoe = 0.700”
Photo 2: Width of stalk = 0.701”

Photo 3: Overall length: 2.006”
Photo 4: Minimum Width of V-canal where thumbscrew secures: 0.250”

I hope this helps!

Cody,

The dimensions you provided worked perfectly. As you can see from the photo the adapter I made up from a dovetail shoe and some scrap metal worked like a charm when introduced to the target telescope and finder.

Nice, I’m glad to hear it worked out, and probably way cheaper than buying an adapter!
