I finished up a long capture on M51 around 4:00am and had just enough time before astronomical dawn to grab some data on M27.  Still dialing in the guiding.  This time no field rotation (did a drift align before getting started capturing data last night.  I did go too har on the guiding rates for the StarLock using 44 for both the RA and DEC rates.  This resulted in some elongation of the stars so we'll dial it back to 33 for the next opportunity.  This is 315 subs 15s each.  This was after starting with 360 subs and culling after Star Analysis and Registration.  This yielded 1.3 hrs of total capture time.  Processed in APP.  For 1.3 hrs I think I did pretty well and have got the scope pretty close to dialed in now.

Nice image and processing dcaponeii

Thank Ori Jim.  Just getting back into using the scope.  It's sat pretty idle while I was imaging planets with the 16".  Almost back to 100% if this capture is an indicator.  The 5.5 hours I spent on M51 last night will be a more stringent test I suspect.

I went back to the data and did a crop in APP from the original stack and then completed the processing of this cropped image separately.  I was curious if I could coax a little more detail from the nebula.  You can now clearly see the elongated stars that resulted from the excessive high RA and DEC Guiding Rates.  Still a bit of additional detail in the nebula I think.
