Mons Penck is a mountain promontory located on the nearside of the Moon. It is located just northeast of the crater Kant, north of Ibn-Rushd and the Rupes Altai escarpment. Southeast of Mons Penck are the prominent craters Teophilus and Cyrillus.

It has a diameter of about 30 km at the base and rises to an altitude of over 4 km. It is named after Albrecht Penck, a German geographer and geologist.

Thanks for this wonderful photo Andrea Maniero that allowed me to create this new model.

The texture mapped DEM is awesome, thank you. It was really neat to be able to view it in 3D from every angle.
