In firecapture, i used to be able to get the camera to 2x2 bin after a few attempts, maybe restarting once or twice. but recently nothing i do will make it bin. What does happen is that firecapture changes the stated dimensions to half what they were (as it it were binning) but just reads out the top left quarter of the chip. Or the whole thing.

I'm running the latest driver from the QHY website, but have also tried the previous version.

 FC is v2.7.15 x64

Binning works fine using the EZCap software (horrible QHY thing), so i suppose this is a firecapture issue.

Sound familiar to anyone? Any fixes? Just some solidarity would be a good start.

Cheers.

The drivers may get changed almost on a monthly basis, but if you haven’t updated Firecapture recently, any change would seem impossible. Drivers may have errors, that eventually gets corrected in the next update.

If you have unfortunately updated the driver lately, you may have to go back to an older version.

He's very responsive on the groups.io forum.
