M77 (Arp 37, NGC 1068, UGC 2188, Cetus A and many others) is a barred spiral galaxy located approximately 47 million light-years away in Cetus. Arp classified this one as Spiral Galaxies – Companions on Arms – Low Surface Brightness Companions. Your guess is as good as mine.

320 minutes total exposure – 5 hours 20 minutes
Imaged December 21st, 23rd, 24th and 26th, 2022 at the El Sauce Observatory (Rio Hurtado, Chile) with a FLI PL 9000 on a PlaneWave CDK24 at f/6.5 3974 mm.
