Hi Everyone!

I'm new in using Siril. First, I stacked my fits files (of the Pelican Nebula) extracted from my Seestar S50 (Framing was used to avoid the affect of Field of Rotation ).

In Siril, I applied Seestar Pre-processing from the Script menu to begin with.

Then came some basic steps like Autostretching, Cropping, Background extraction, Photometric Color calibration, Green Noise removing,

Histogram Transformation and saved my final FIT-file. Further, to save it as a JPEG (to show in the social media etc.), I opened the processed FIT-file and selected Jpeg as

"supported image file" and tried to save it.

Then it warned me on turning back to Linear Image mode "to save what you see". I did so, but my final jpeg image came blank. But if I kept it Autostretched instead,

still the outcome came out blank.

So I'm stuck with blank images in any way I try. Any help?

It looks like your file is not stretched enought. I suggest you to save your elaborated fit then open and finally process it with GIMP

The "Autostretch" is just a view mode - it does not stretch the actual image data, you are supposed to do that yourself using one of the available stretching tools.

If you are completely happy with how the autostretch looks like then you can actually apply it from the Histogram stretch dialog - there is button for doing it there.

Right. Select Linear instead of Autostretch. Then go ahead and stretch and edit your image. Then, while still in linear mode, save the image. I strongly suggest saving to PNG instead of JPG.

This morning I downloaded the latest Siril version, 1.4.0-beta1. Menus are better organised.

Using my already processed FIT file I tried two things. Both gave good and similar results:

1- Kept Autostretch Mode on > Did Histogram T. ,using "Rescale >0 only > Saved as JPG.

2- Kept Linear Mode on > Did Histogram T. ,using "Rescale >0 only > Saved as PNG.

I'm happy with both images. It's a matter of trial and error.smile.gif

Thanks friends for all the advices.

Clear Skies..

PNG is a superior image format to JPG because it uses lossless compression and therefore will not sacrifice image detail during the compression process.  It's all I use when saving off my final image for posting online or sharing with others.  FWIW.
