Hi, I am trying to use a William Optics 61mm ZWO 174 camera and a Herschel Wedge to photograph the sun in White Light and I’m failing badly!

let me describe my set up.

i use a William Optics 61mm telescope with Baader Herschel wedge with a continuum filter and 1.9 ND filter with a ZWO 174 mono camera, the tripod and tracking head work perfectly so aren’t part of the problem.

with this set up I fail to find focus, I have used 2 inch and 3 and half inch extension tubes attached to both in front of the Herschel wedge and behind the Herschel wedge and find that focus is just out of reach and the rack tuning system is all the way into the telescope.

oh I’m using AstroDMX  Capture as my camera control.

Any ideas will be great fully received.

clear days and nights!

Simon

Try to use an eyepiece without using the extension tubes. If you can find focus it’s probably that you don’t need extensions for your camera.
