Trying to image the Rho Oph region centered on IC 4604. Slews to target with no issues but it does the final plate solve just before letting you start the image. Except it gets stuck in an infinite loop of taking an image and not succeeding in centering, taking another image and so on. Probably would have gone on until T CrB blows its top..

This area of the sky has very few stars due to all the dust - the very thing we are trying to image? Has anyone else run into this issue? And, more importantly, does anyone have a work-around?

I don't remember exactly how I handled a similar issue but try this: under advanced features disable the "Execute enhancement after GOTO" and "Live" options.

After that you should be able to shoot IC 4604 in the so called continuous mode. The Seestar will take frame after frame but will not stack them. At the end of the session you will find all frames in the usual folder (e.g. Album -> Seestar -> IC 4604_sub) and be able to either stack them within the app or transfer them to your computer for further processing with external software.

Agree with Terrain. Also, I’ve imaged this area without a filter since IC4604 is a reflection nebula and added Ha in processing for the surrounding weaker Ha region. You might want to try with the Lp filter off if it is automatically selected for this object.

I have encountered this issue.  I cancel the centering as the object is already in the field, then use the manual move button to centre.  I have had success with cancelling and re GOTO the object.  This seems to have cropped up more frequently since the last update.  I use alt/az mode so I am not sure if EQ mode would be the same.
