I am trying to combine Ha data with RGB data, typically to enhance star forming regions within a galaxy using only Photoshop.

I have some experience with Photoshop but I am struggling to follow the little information I have found. Is there anyone who would be kind enough to

give me detailed instructions on how to do it or send me a link to a simple tutorial. Thanks.

You're going to want to first subtract the R continuum (scaled) from the Ha so that your Ha image is only the areas that you want to highlight.  Then you'll want to colorize that image with whatever hue you choose for Ha.  Finally you want to add the Ha image as a layer over top of the main image with a screen or overlay blending mode, setting opacity to taste.
