Or just drill holes in the tripod top-plate where they are needed?
Clear skies,

I am considering giving my classic C-8 a spin in Alt-az mode. But when I remove the fork mount base from the wedge, the mounting holes don't seem to align with the holes on the base of the tripod. Is a different adapter plated needed for this? Or just a different tripod? Clear skies!
A long time ago, I asked Celestron support about this (for my orange tube C-8 and rigid tripod). I was told that only the scope center bolt is used for alt-az use, and my mine was a common 1/4-20 bolt. I found one long enough to work, still have it, but rarely use it, for I prefer the one knob (RA) for following an object.
