Just thought I'd spread the news. Our old meade DSI camera's are now supported by aaronwmorris indi-allsky. I have the DSI I setup and running smoothly on a Raspberry PI 3b.

It's not the greatest quality images from the potato but its saved from the dump and now has new purpose as my scope time-lapse camera.

There's many helpful tutorials on how to setup. https://github.com/a...is/indi-allsky

Awesome! Runs great on the Rpi 3b. Also runs on any SBC or linux machine. So saving possibly two items from the dumpster.

This guy has a clear layed out procedure of his allsky setup, with a different camera. But mostly copy and paste if your not a linux fundi. - http://www.suffolksk...a-raspberry-pi/

Aaron is also great if any help needed and actively supports the package.

Coincidentally I recently got out my old DSI II mono camera to see if it still works.
I had a problem with it a long time ago, when the thermal grease that conducts heat from the sensor to the case shrank (?) or somehow lost contact, so the sensor quickly overheated. I replaced the thermal grease and got it working again - but that was 8 yrs ago.
At present, it’s back to not working. My computer recognizes that it’s connected, but the image I get is just snow and it doesn’t respond to light or dark. I still have the Autostar DVD and re-installed the software (old WinXP vintage), with no luck.
I might try this new software. Perhaps with it, my camera will work with a Win10 computer.
So… thanks!

There is a download for envisage_v7.9_win7.zip

https://envisage.sof...r.com/download/

But as you say it sees the camera and just snow that's not a great prognosis.

I did not realize the sensor on the Meade DSI III was as large as it is.  It is relatively low resolution, but the pixels are massive (by modern standards), with an 11mm diagonal.  It has the same sensor as the Starlight Xpress Ultrastar Pro, which is in my Camera Simulator.  It is a really good fit for the cheap ZWO 2.5mm CS mount lens.  I think if you had a lens like this, the results would be fairly good.

Any idea how to setup Meade DSI III in the Indi-allsky on Raspberry PI?

After instalation I am getting NO CAMERA.

Camera is working correctly under Windows.

If you open an issue on Github and post your Support Info, it would help diagnose this.

Thank you for the answer.

The problem has been solved by carfully reading instalation screens.

The trick is:

1. In the Indi Server setup, you have to chose Camera Vendor: ToupTec / Altair / Omegon / Meade / Etc

2. In the Indi-Allsky setup, you have to chose Camera Driver: Indi_dsi_ccd

Now it works flowerred.gif

Ah, yes.  There are multiple drivers for Meade.  The DSI server is for the older CCDs, but Meade also released some Touptek branded cameras a couple of years ago which has a separate driver.
