Hi all,

I am running into false weather alerts and subsequent observatory shutdowns with my Stellarmate’s INDI driver for Openweathermap API. I have not changed any of the settings in the INDI control panel’s settings for this driver, yet it still gives clouds alert when its clear outside. Experienced users please chime in!

Clear Skies,

Paul

Only thing I can tell you... trying to depend on an outside site that is NOT viewing your actual sky is haphazard.  Tonight for me was a classic example.  My apps showed that I would be covered by clouds... but when I went outside and used the old eyeball Mark 1, the sky was perfect.  In fact, so much so that my HFR on focusing has been the lowest it has ever been.

If you want true cloud/obstruction reports, you are going to need to get your own device mounted locally to report those to the software.

Even though you may not have changed any settings, Paul, maybe some jakey update did.

Updates are meant to fix something, usually. But often they unfix something else.

You could remove, then reinstall Openweathermap, and get a new API for the fresh install.
