This is what happens when you dream of taking a picture of something, but you understand that under martial law you won't be able to go somewhere with the equipment to catch it in a certain geographical location. I'm not talking about the weather, which should also be appropriate.
And it all turned out to be banal. I went to my usual spot to take pictures of galaxies on May 2. The sky was transparent, as they say - photometric. And the Moon was shining in the west side of sky. The telescope was already assembled and adjusted, so I thought, let me take a couple of dozen photos. And when I took them, I decided to turn on the video recording for another minute to complete the picture.
As a result, until the next day I watched this minute-long video on my computer, I didn't even suspect that the main character in it would not be the Moon at all.
So, a pack of starlinks against the background of the Moon:

Yep, and it's just going to get worse.  Bezos is putting up his own array, along with China.  It may be time to sell the telescopes and start hunting again.

I will never understand this complaint.

Tryam, your capture is very cool. Congrats. I wish I could see a version that was not destroyed by YouTube's awful compression.

But I, as if, uploaded a FullHD video. Look at the settings of the YouTube player.
And thank you for the support.
In principle, I find it strange to read about "problems" like Bezos and others, when, for example, last summer, not some satellite flew into a 5-story building in the neighboring block, but a real russian cruise missile, and killed 36 people in an instant. When you continue to do astrophotography in such conditions, you think the least about all the Bezos.

You infer that one shouldn't be saddened by a person being diagnosed with cancer because 13 soldiers were killed on the same day. The satellite congestion is an issue regardless of whether you compare it to something larger in scale or impact.

What soldiers? It was an apartment building on the street next to mine. My answer was that some people have no idea what kind of psychological conditions you have to take astrophotos in when your city is being bombarded with missiles carrying half a ton of explosives. It was during that shelling that the Ohmadit Children's Hospital in my city was destroyed, photos of the destruction of which was broadcast around the world. And so, living in this nightmare, the problem of Bezos' satellites is simply insignificant for us, Ukrainian astronomers.

Amazing capture, Tyram. Thanks for sharing with us.  Sorry for the atrocities forced upon you.  Hopefully, there is solace in observing the moon, even with a few high altitude intruders silently passing by.

Astronomy is the only thing that keeps me from going crazy in this situation. And these are not "stories" like some people have (I think you guessed who I'm talking about), but real horrors.
Therefore, thank you to those who really understand these things.

It was a good video capture. Sorry to hear about the extras.

But my life has been like this for all these three years. Before that, everything was normal. I had my own rock band, performances. I had astronomy. My wife and daughter.
And now my wife and daughter are forced to live in the USA, and I only see them in messengers. And only astronomy remains. And this is my only salvation.
And thank you for appreciating my work.

Please continue sharing your astronomy with us.   I think I saw in the caption that the music was played by you?   Lovely pairing!

Tryam, can I reinforce what Scott has just said.

Your post was interesting and, given the circumstances, remarkable you had chance to concentrate on imaging.

Yes, I play these improvisations myself. Before the war, I had my own rock band, in which I was the leader, songwriter and vocalist. This is what it looked like: https://www.youtube....h?v=vXMkFNKtt-E

The song in this video, however, is the Spiritual Hymn of Ukraine, written back in the 19th century, reworked by our band into a modern style.
And if you're interested, you can listen to more songs here: https://soundcloud.com/oleumm

There is one song there that I dedicated to my mentor - Klim Churyumov. The same one who discovered the comet you all know. In the late 80s, he was my scientific supervisor.

I guess I'd better stop here, because this is an astronomical forum, not a musical one. lol.gif lol.gif lol.gif

Thank you.
But it will not end by itself. For this, many powerful telescopes are needed, capable of forcing such an end.
This is me figuratively. The forum, of course, is astronomical.

If anyone is interested, I finally made a video about how I create soundtracks for my videos. Continuing the conversation.
