Hi there folks

been toying with the idea of trying the SS alp app so i can run in window11 pc

i really like the sound of being able to have more options of control which would also free up my phone

1 the biggest question i have and the most important one is , though this alp app looks well made and polished does using this app have the potential to screw my S50 up or is it pretty much fail safe, ie can a nooby "me" operate it without causing issues to the unit itself or its software inside when changing setting n stuff within alp ???

2 when you change some of the parameters around and hit the save button will that overide the official SS app , for instance i made a bunch of changes for use at home and say one night i decided to go into the field with the S50 and run it using my phone as normal will i have issues , as a day before i was using alp with its saved options i set or does the app function normally as i am not connected to alp

soz for the nooby questions but i really dont want to brick my SS until i know what experience you guys have had with ALP if  - i should go for it no probs / or operate with caution / or take a wide birth altogether and stay safe ??

cheers guys :)

Hi there:

1. No, the ALP software emulates the mobile app so it isn't intrusive on the S50. Worst case they change the firmware on the S50 so ALP stops working until they can reverse engineer the changes and fix it.

2. No, as I said the ALP application emulates the mobile app. I've used both.
