Hello everyone, I present to you my work, a new Sol'Ex model:

"SOL'ex by James Rignault" is an alternative housing for the spectroheliograph designed by Christian Buil and Valérie Desnoux, "SOL'ex by Christian Buil." Since the latter had already seen the V1, V2, and V2 Pro versions, it was necessary, in agreement with the designer, to change the name to highlight the difference between the two models and to assume sole responsibility for the design, production, development, and any potential problems with my model.
Far from denying its deep affiliation with the original project, this housing nevertheless offers a different mechanical approach, while the optical principle remains strictly the same.
The major evolution lies in a nearly monobloc housing, making it extremely rigid. The old collimator unit has been replaced by an internal slit collimation adjustment. This internal collimation adjustment capability required a more mechanical approach, making the production of this model a little more technical but still easily achievable.
Warning: This model is not currently compatible with the previous optical kit (60mm focal length collimator lens).
MODEL DETAILS:
• Vertical printing of the main body, allowing for perfectly cylindrical bores (collimator and objective axes).
• Quick and easy collimation adjustment on the slit.
• Possibility of performing collimation directly on the imaging instrument.
• Lens tubes for ZWO or SVBonny SV108 focusers.
• Lens tubes screwed onto the body (no more tightening screws) for high rigidity even with fairly heavy cameras.
• Screw-on rings for holding the objective and collimator lenses. •Anti-reflective texture in the objective and collimator tubes.
•Tilt and pitch adjustable grating (forward-backward tilt and right-left correction).
•Vernier locator for the main spectral lines.
•Fine grating adjustment knob.
•T2/31.75 instrument interface.
•Interface for CANON lenses.
•Guide cube for stellar spectroscopy (not tested yet!).
•Vixen-type mount (option to add a KODAK tripod insert) for use in Sunscan mode on a small azimuthal mount such as the Skywatcher Pronto.
•Completely light-tight design
