Need help on balancing a newly purchased Ioptron HAE31 Mount.

Does anyone have any tricks or advice?

You don’t say exactly what issues you’re having, but one way to calculate the needed weight and position of the counterweight is to determine the torque (the distance from the center times the weight) of the payload and the counterweight, and making them as close to equal as possible.

Since this strain wave mount doesn't require counter balance weights, the only "trick" I can think of is to make sure the mounted scope is within the triangle formed by the tripod legs. Good luck! borg.gif
