I'm trying to connect an AZ GTI , a 600D with a Raspberry Pi. I have been trying to work out if I need a driver from gphoto but I can't seem to see how to move forward with this. Do I connect to the camera from the Pi using the camera's A/V out socket? that doesn't seem right?!

Can anyone advise please. I've been following this tutorial, he doesn't seem to encounter any problems at all connecting his Pentax.

Thanks.

I'm assuming you mean using the Snap cable from the the AZ Gti to the Camera?

Have you tried using the Skywatcher Synscan app?

My first dabbling into AP was with a Canon 60D mounted on an AZ GTi.  The Synscan app allows you to shoot entire sequences of subs on the camera via the Snap cable.

If you want to go to the next level, I'd recommend looking into KStars/EKOS to run on the Rasp Pi, or you might prefer to go with a Stellarmate OS that is a heavily modified Linux distro and can provide full control.

Be aware that the Android app for Stellarmate never seemed to work properly, and as far as I know, still does not.  But it is easy to control the Rasp Pi over a LAN cable or wifi using VNC (similar to Windows RDP)
