I am tracking and imaging M51 as I write this. It appears that APT is accurately tracking M51, but when I go to Carte du Ciel with the telescope synched it suggests that I am off. Photo attached. Any thoughts?

Did you adjust the settings of Cartes du Ciel? It is important to pay close attention to the time zone, time (HH:MM:SS in 24h time system), observatory location (north or south of equator, east or west of Greenwich). An error-prone process.
