I saw this Bresser slider mount posted by someone in another thread and it looks pretty cool so I ordered one to give it a try:

I see the weight capacity is 3.5 kg (7.7 lbs), so now I am looking for the best binos I can get that will max out that capacity. Other than my BT-100, the heaviest binos I currently have are in the 50-56mm range and all around 1kg. So I am looking for something bigger and more powerful, maybe like a 16x80 or 20x80, but with very high optical quality and I also need high eye relief.

I was looking into the APM MS ED 16x80, but I found this post that says they are not sharp to the edge, and that stars exhibit bloating/flaring:  https://www.cloudyni...0mm/?p=10161780

They said the 16x70mm is somewhat better, but that would leave 10mm of aperture on the table by not maxing out the mount.

So I’m wondering if there is anything better than APM MS ED 16x80, or is that pretty much the only best option in the 80mm size range under 3.5kg with high eye relief?

I checked Oberwerk but they only have the 20x80 Deluxe.

Thanks in advance for any info.

The APM 16x80 you mention is a good one. Also some of the APM 100mm straight throughs may have adequate eye relief, not sure. As far as high quality goes these may fit the bill but are expensive or hard to find: Tak 22x60, WX 10x50 or the WX 7x50. Good luck in your search!

Something to consider: you don't usually buy a mount then try to find a binocular to suit it (usually the other way around, if anything). Especially since this is a new and unique design, maybe you should use the mount with binoculars you have for a while first to see if you like it before you buy a bino specifically for it? That might also give you a little insight into whether the stated load capacity is legit (which it may not be). Unless you were already wanting to buy a bigger bino anyway.

The mount looks really cool and I'm looking forward to reading your opinion on it, but I would suggest that you might be getting ahead of yourself buying binos specifically for it without having it in hand yet, no?

That's a good point, I should probably test the mount with some binos I already have to make sure I like it and check that it can actually stabilize 3.5kg before getting big binos specifically for it. I'll let you know how it goes once I receive it and test it.
