My reducer corrector needed some cleaning and I can see something that is between the elements. Hard to see unless the light is just right. Any ideas what this is? I may have to disassemble the unit and give a closer look at this.

I took it apart and yes there was something but not mold. Came right off on the back surface of the first lens. This is the area on the left side of the photo circled in red. Maybe some off gassing of the paint that is used to blacken the edges of the lens closest to the camera. On to the right side area, it was an area showing through the black paint on the second lens, not a reflection. I did find that some of the paint was very thin and missing in places. I blackened the lens edge again. All back together now.
