As seems to be a common issue with these mounts I have been having problems with the motors running away at high speed.  In trying to trouble shoot this I decided to probe the power pins to check what voltage is being delivered to the motor at different slew rates, but I must have shorted some pins because the motor control board literally caught fire :(

So... does anyone know where I might be able to acquire a new (or at least functioning) Motor Control board?  Celestron don't seem to supply them anymore.

Motor control boards are tough to find and will have the same runaway problem ... I would suggest an OnStep upgrade [https://graydigitala...conversion-kit/], it's the upgrade path I use for my CGE Pro's when they decide to retire ...

Yes, the Chad Grey onstep overhaul is a 100% improvement, it will run better than the stock celestron could ever perform.

Unfortunately Grey Digital appear to be out of conversion kits, and they haven't responded to emails asking if they intend to restock... So any other alternatives?

Id follow up. Chad just bought a cnc machine to increase production. He worked with me extensively to get the cge classic modification in play and it is exceptional.
