Getting even a very nice full disc to not lose a lot of impact and detail when colored is tricky for me, Well cooked!  'Claw'  filament on RHS edge particularly nice.

I agree. Sometimes I just decide it's better to stay in bw version.

Another session 2 hours later.

And processed differently (using WaveSharp).

Is it too sharp? Which one do you prefer?

Since it's hard to bounce up and down on the screen:

I think the sharper one (on the right) is better, but the one on the left has an SHG-type of look to it.

Hi Tapio,

The WS version shows concentric rings on my screen. Was that present in the stack ?

Newton rings can always be a problem but now it's hard for me to see those.

Might be that I am "seeing things" smile.gif

In this attached image (I do not suggest processing images like this wink.gif they are a bit more visible if you view the image not at 1:1 but zoomed out

The 2nd screenshot is zoomed out

And this wasn't to discredit your image, more worried that I did not see the rings in the non-WS version.

If nobody sees them its fine with me. One thing less to worry about.

Ah, now I see what you mean.
I guess it's possible to see that kind of artefacts if you use more sharpening/wavelets and then 'cook' too much.
Can share the raw tifs of both if someone wants to experiment...

I don't mind having a peek at a raw from the image used in WS. I wonder if I can detect the origin of the rings. You can PM me.

Cheers

Can share file(s) tomorrow.

Someone else noticed Newton rings in the WS image, but only in thumbnail image. Curious.

PS Anyone know why the registration to SolarChat doesn't work?

It's easier visible when smaller but I saw them in the fullscale once I loaded that in WS. If it's real newton there should be a spike in the fft somewhere. I will check that.
