i want to stack some images i took using my Ha filter, but cannot get PI to image solve them. Do i need to image solve it since i am gonna merge the data to my master RGB image? I found several videos on how to merge them but don't see any on how to stack the Ha images with WBPP in comparison to my unfiltered images.

Pixinsight, Image solve Ha images?

You do need to register them.
Once upon a time registration could be done without plate solving. That may have changed in later iterations of PI (which may now require Plate SOlve) . Give it a try, just with "Star Alignment."
In other words, I do not know if Image registration requires Plate Solving.

You can use StarAlignment to register the Ha to the RGB after preprocessing. You'll need to DynamicCrop out the inevitable edge issues, which hopefully will be small.
In terms of how to stack (separate question), assuming you are using normal capture software, that will put the filter information into the capture files and WBPP will figure it out. If you are capturing it manually, you'll need to tell WBPP which are the Ha files. One way to do that is to use [grouping] keywords. There are recent threads on that here. It can get a little complicated that way (IMO).

i am using Sharpcap to capture. When i tried to process the images in PI using WBPP like i do my non filtered images it always pops up it cannot image solve so i have to hit cancel to finish.

i will give it a shot and see what happens...thanks for the suggestion

As was pointed out, by dswtan, I used the wrong name for the process......registration is done by "Star Alignment. "

I also know this, and have known for a long time. But ever time I want to do star alignment, I still look for the "registration" process that doesn't exist... Lol
