Hello everyone,

Several blue spirals have been seen in the skies on this planet over the last 3 years. From Sweden to Alaska to New Zealand. One was seen on the 24th of March this year (2025) in Europe and in the comments for a video of the phenomenon on YouTube (Mysterious blue spiral spotted across Europe caused by SpaceX rocket), a Mr. Ed Whitson wrote the following: "There was a famous one in mid 1800s over Canada and many more around the world".

Now, I just want to ask if anyone here knows anything more about this? Did the newspapers in the U.S. and/or Canada at the time write about it? What year, month and day was it? And all other relevant information.

I'm looking into this because I think that the blue spirals are an unknown natural phenomenon, probably originating from the sun. And everything unknown should be investigated scientifically...

Also, please share if you have seen one yourself! Particularly important are old written accounts of a "blue vortex" or "blue maelstrom" seen in the sky.

The explanation that the blue spirals are caused by SpaceX rockets venting fuel or something, is not true, I think.

Below is a link to the video I mention.

So you don't know what they are and must investigate but you do know it is not rocket fuel venting.

What’s your basis for saying “the explanation that the blue spirals are caused by SpaceX rockets venting fuel or something, is not true”? I wouldn’t believe anything that some random guy on YouTube comments says regarding some unspecified events sometime in the mid 1800s, particularly without any sources or evidence.

"Blue Spiral" would be consistent with rocket launch, fuel dump, etc. now-a-days --- especially if the observer is sighting along the recession trajectory. That can be easily correlated with known launches. Such sightings have also been reported long ago, but are substantially anecdotal as available to us here and now. Jerome Clark's book "Unexplained!" is a great resource, well-documented, and presented in an appropriately disinterested (non-judgmental) perspective useful for your research. Many editions over the decades.

~Natural Phenomena~ can also present as such... aurora, bolides, electrostatic, atmospheric, swamp gas, etc. etc.    Tom

That's exactly what we saw and several people imaged at TSP this year. A bow shock followed shortly by a small circular cloud moving steadily from west to east. Was a SpaceX rocket. Mystery solved.

What a lovely Aurora and might I say that the shape of the 35mm camera

strongly indicates an era prior to the refined shape of the "New" Nikons

and Canons of the later 70's.

Heck, it even seems to predate an early Kodak Retina Reflex that

I recently found at the local Salvation Army outlet on Seniors discount day for $6

Perhaps Ball Lightening? Can be very startling to see and could be described in any manner of ways. https://en.wikipedia.../Ball_lightning

Cheers
