I was given a NexStar 5 SE and would like to hook a Canon DSLR to it.  I have both a Canon R5 and an EOS 7D.  Has anyone successfully mounted either one to a 5 SE?  If so, would you share the details of your imaging train?  I have various items on hand, but can't seem to make it all fit.  The items I have on-hand are a Celestron f/6.3 reducer, a Celestron T-Adapter, various 42mm ring sets, and a Williams Optics M48 Canon RF adapter.  One of my problems is that the M48 side of the R5 adapter has female threads with no shoulder, so anything that screws in just keeps going, and not mechanically sound.  I know about back focus and I need 105mm after the reducer and the R5 flange-to-sensor is 20mm.  Any help would be appreciated.  This is my first time trying this.

There is a dedicated forum for DSLR imaging, so if you don't get the help you need here, try there.

From you list, it looks like you are missing a T Ring.  Something like this:  https://www.amazon.c...,aps,182&sr=8-6

I ammnot recommending that specific item, but that is the right name. A DSLR-specific T Ring turns your camera body threads into standard astro threads like m42 or m48. The T adapter has m42 threads, so you can connect the DSLR to the T Ring, t adapter, and the OTA or focal reducer.

I finally figured out how to construct the right length imaging chain:  NexStar 5 SE (needs 127mm of back focus) -> Celestron Reducer/Corrector - f/6.3 (needs 105mm of back focus) -> Celestron T-Adapter-SC (provides 50mm) -> Lightdow T2-RF Adapter (provides 35mm) - EOS R5 DSLR (provides 20mm).  Now just have to wait until the end of the week for the rain to pass.
