I agree, I think it is smaller than an MI-250.

Heads up,I'll be closing this month's thread down several hours sooner than normal,probably by mid afternoon.We are heading on the road for two days . The last line in your post is evidence that it was NOT big enough...

Byers himself said that he should have made this with a full gear.  I think he was trying to keep costs and bulk down for buyers who'd be taking it to a remote site.  Still, that's an amazing find.  For visual, or even planetary imaging, resetting the sector wouldn't be a big deal.

 

Honestly for modern imaging it's not a problem either, other than re-aquiring the object once every 2 hours.

Well, I didn't need the last 4 scopes I got locally . . .

 

The 6344 I got a week ago, I did advertised it in an email to club members, but no one wanted it.  I took it to our star party this last Saturday, and showed it everyone.  They just don't know about these old classics.  So I'll try again with another email to everyone again.
