Attached is a CN-sized photo of M83 I took a few days after a tornado swept through my neighborhood here in southern Kentucky on May 16. The tornado cut through the woods on my property missing our house by about 400 yards, then demolished my neighbors entire farm before moving east. We were lucky. Afterwards we had no power for a week, and I had to spend 2 days cutting downed trees just so we could get off our property. During that week we were on generator power and we didn't get home internet back until today.
The night of May 21 we were going to have a few hours of clear skies. I thought at first that didn't seem right to enjoy my hobby after what everyone in my area had gone through. And I wasn't sure how the equipment would work on generator power. But then I thought that you never know when it will be your last night shooting, so I went ahead and targeted M83. It is very low from my location so it's no the easiest target, but I thought why not.
Overall I was happy to have gone ahead and shot that night as I think the photo is not too bad. I didn't like the stars so I synthesized them. This is 75x60s taken with my ES ED127 refractor using an ASI585MC Pro.
Take care everybody - Roger
